Applications for the MSBA–Finance master's degree are submitted electronically through the Virginia Tech Graduate School application system. The full application typically takes about an hour to complete, and you can save your progress and return at any time.

What to know before you apply

  • The MSBA–Finance is a cohort-based, one-year program (10 courses, 30 credit hours).
  • Applicants are reviewed for quantitative readiness—backgrounds in economics, finance, statistics, math, physics, computer science, engineering, CMDA, or similar fields are ideal.
  • We prefer that applicants submit GMAT or GRE scores as additional evidence of quantitative ability, though they are not required. Applications are evaluated based on the strength of quantitative preparation reflected in academic transcripts, and applicants whose coursework provides limited evidence of quantitative readiness are strongly encouraged to submit scores.

The program welcomes new students in the summer II semester and reviews applications on a rolling basis, so early application is encouraged.
