Solution Summary: Developed AI-powered tools to automate challenge sourcing and mentor matching, enabling NobleReach to expand and scale its Innovation for Impact program efficiently.

The Challenge

NobleReach’s Innovation for Impact program connects undergraduate students nationwide with real-world, high-impact problems and expert mentors. As the program grows, manually curating challenge statements and finding qualified mentors has become time-consuming and difficult to scale — risking delays and inconsistencies that could limit future expansion.

The Solution

The student team leveraged Stack AI to develop two key tools. The first automates challenge statement creation: by entering keywords, a school, and a research focus area, the tool conducts web and academic searches and generates clear, relevant problems for students to tackle.

The second tool helps match those challenges with potential mentors. By scanning a university’s faculty and local networks, it identifies experts aligned with the topic, complete with reasons for selection and quick-access LinkedIn profiles. Together, these tools dramatically reduce the time spent curating challenges and locating mentors, while maintaining quality and alignment with NobleReach’s mission.

The Impact

With these AI-powered systems, NobleReach can confidently scale its Innovation for Impact program to more partner universities each year. Faster project kickoff times, consistent challenge quality, and targeted mentor matching strengthen the student experience and build more resilient academic partnerships — all while keeping costs low and freeing staff to focus on strategic growth.
